It is quiet the house right now. Laura and Robert are both sleeping. I just wasn’t ready for bed yet, so I’m still up (not that it’s that late either). This was a good weekend. I enjoyed being home and having it be just the three of us. Saturday we were able to sleep in and take an afternoon nap. We did a large grocery run. The cupboards were getting quite empty. Sunday we went to church (very small congregation). We took naps again in the afternoon. Then we just had a quiet evening and watched the storms roll through. Today Laura let us sleep in again! I could get used to this. We got ready and went up to Dallas to visit the in-laws. It was a good visit. Caitlin, Ryan, and Owen came too. I think Laura and Owen will be so much fun to watch growing up together. We left around 3 and took the scenic route home. We wanted to see more storm damage (it hit north of us). Once home, Robert did the dishes while I cleaned off the island. It was totally buried again. I would like to get the kitchen floor washed tomorrow and the living room carpet vacuumed. Hopefully I can shampoo it tomorrow night then. We’ll see how things go with the little girl.
This week I am guessing will be pretty quiet. Wednesday is my last tutoring session for this school year with Noah. I told him I would possibly bring treat of some kind. Should figure something out soon. Thursday Mom and Dad are coming to visit. They are on vacation, and wanted to see Laura again, so I told them to come on up. If the weather is nice, Dad will most likely spend a chunk of the day fishing. That is fine since he doesn’t just sit around and chat like the girls do. Originally we were thinking about heading to “the middle of nowhere” for a friend’s birthday party, but I don’t think that is going to happen. We can’t afford the gas, Laura probably wouldn’t handle it well, and it wouldn’t be much fun for me if I’m taking care of Laura. So it looks like another weekend home.
If you read my journal, you are most likely invited to Laura’s first birthday party. June 14th at 1:00pm at the Hammond Town Hall. You should be getting an invite this week. If you don’t see one, just comment and let me know you are coming.
I suppose I should clean up for bed and get ready for tomorrow. There is always that possibility that I’ll get a call at 5:50 asking me to work.
