Wednesday– I stayed on my left side all day. I was having contractions all day, but nothing regular or strong. Wednesday night we got the car seat installed, the hospital bag packed, and everything loaded into the car so we are ready whenever. After going to bed, Robert woke up sick. He believes it is due to stress. So I was up with him for a while taking care of him.
Thursday– I woke up and was having contractions 10 minutes apart. They weren’t strong at all, but with my issues with high blood pressure, I called the OB department to see if I should do anything. They said to come in for an evaluation. Labs were drawn again to check for pre-eclampsia. Everything came back normal again. I was told to resume bed rest and was sent home.
Today– I had my friend Jess come over to help me out this morning. She came, took me to my follow up appointment, and spent part of the day with me. It was so nice to have company. The kitchen is even cleaned up a bit, My doctor told me that I can’t go into labor this weekend since he is going to be gone for nieces and nephews graduation parties. I believe he would come back and deliver for me if I did go into active labor. My contractions today don’t seem to be real regular and aren’t strong. So I am lying here, watching tv, and drinking lots of water. We’ll see if I make it to my Tuesday induction. Bets anyone?

A) you don’t need a hospital bag. we had one (mostly) packed and then didn’t even bring it with (it was just supposed to be a check-up!)
b) order Pizza Hut. preferable stuffed crust. that was my last meal at home.
c) get you some Netflix!

A) The bag contains our list of who to contact and how to contact them and clothes for me to wear home. Not a ton of stuff in it. That way Robert doesn’t have to guess what to get for me.
B) The closest Pizza Hut is in River Falls. Maybe another pizza joint will work.
C) Our big collection of movies should be good for Monday. Tuesday we go in super early, so only 1 more day alone.

A) toss in some good snacks too like pudding cups and juice boxes in case the hospitals snacks are lame.
B) maybe since it’s summer and not winter a big batch of ice cream would work
C) the Netflix are for AFTER the baby when it just lies around all day and it’s too much effort to get out of bed and holding a hardcover book squishes baby’s head

A) I forgot about those! I need to send Robert out to get some for me.
B) Ice cream is always good. We’ll see if it works.
C) I’ll have to keep Netflix in mind.
