I wouldn’t call today a success, but I wouldn’t call it a disaster either. Laura started out the morning bottomless (from what I have read and heard, if a child is bottomless she will notice the feelings better). After 3 accidents on the floor and throwing a fit after each one when I had her sit on the potty, I decided it was time to put some training pants on her. After that, it was a battle to get her to sit on the potty. I don’t think she sat on the potty for more than 5 minutes this afternoon/evening. I’m starting to question if she was really ready for this. She won’t be able to climb up onto the toilet. She hasn’t ever practiced pulling her pants down. I think we’ll try again tomorrow with just training pants on and see how it goes. I noticed today when she was actually going, so maybe I can time it that way too for when she should sit on the potty. I just feel like I’m at a loss. Life would be so much easier if kids came potty trained!
