The drive home yesterday took a little longer than normal. We made it half-way home (Black River Falls) before the kids needed a break. After lunch, we made it to Eau Claire before Warren had another meltdown. We stopped at Oakwood Mall in Eau Claire. The have a great play area that Laura could run around in. Warren layed and kicked and ate a little more. We made it home around 3:30 yesterday afternoon (leaving DeForest at 9:50am or so). All in all, we drove 1,057.3 miles in 4 days. In one trip we saw our car roll over to 67,000 miles and 68,000 miles.
Sunday was a great day. John, Tamara, and Jonah got to the house shortly after noon. Laura got down for a nap before they got there, so that was nice. We had a nice relaxing afternoon. After lunch Laura went outside with Jonah, Tamara, and John. I bundled Warren up and had him out for a short bit. Laura seemed to have lots of fun outside with Tamara. I’m glad that she did. Laura tends to be a bit shy around people, so it really pleased me that she took to Tamara. :D We played a couple rounds of Uno Attack. Laura had fun playing with us. She had cards in front of her, but didn’t actually play. She felt that she was, which was the important part. While we didn’t do anything earth shattering or wild on Sunday while John was home, it was just nice to be with him. I can’t wait for him to be home permanently. Hanging out with Tamara and Jonah is great, but it is great with John there.
The rest of Sunday evening went well after the Neppls left. With help from Mom we got both kids bathed and in bed. I was in bed shortly after. I know, we are such a lively bunch.
I am so thankful that my parents took the kids for us. I really needed time with Robert without the kids. I am feeling refreshed for this week. I feel like I am ready to be with the kids again. By the end of last week, I was wondering what I am doing thinking I can stay at home with the kids. I am still wanting to go out with Mandy and Jess on Friday or Saturday.
I am going to have to dig through the blankets that we have to find a big one for Laura to use at night. She likes to have a fan on in her room, plus it gets cold normally. This leads to a very cold room for her to sleep in. Even though she sleeps in sleeper jammies (with the feet), I think she still gets cold. I am thinking that she will use the monkey quilt that Mom made her for Christmas when she was 6 months old. It is large, and warm. We’ll see how it goes tonight.
I liked the look I had for my blog before, but there are so many themes available that I had to go with the seasons. So stay tuned to see what will be next! I’ll try not to change every 2 weeks.
