Staying Afloat

Laura has an MRI today. I’m a little nervous about it. What really has me awake is I’m thinking about some friends of ours. They had a little boy who was born with several health problems (mainly with his heart). Anyways, they were at Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis a lot (we are going to the one in St. Paul today). Trish (the mom) and I have been talking a lot recently about the MRI. Well, their son Sam went through a lot and ended up passing away last August. So he is on my mind this morning. Just remembering his big smile, how he chased our cats in his walker (he also ended up having some developmental issues due to lack of oxygen to the brain during a surgery), and him playing with my mom on the floor when they visited after I had Laura. I also remember him just laying in his hospital bed when we visited them several times. Such a huge loss for Dan and Trish. They are actually expecting another baby this February. I’m really excited for them and praying that they have a healthy baby this time.
