Thanksgiving this year was great. We went down to my parents on Wednesday. We got there around 1:30. Wednesday was spent helping Mom get food ready for Thursday. Thursday was pretty laid back. We watched Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, then turned on the Packers. After the game, we gorged ourselves. I was able to eat my entire meal uninterrupted. The little girl slept the entire time. Friday was spent baking Christmas cookies. We started around 9 and finished after 6. It was a long day, but they are all done.
Saturday was a nice quiet day. I don’t think we actually did that much. I know that we all got a nice nap in. Saturday night wasn’t so great. Laura woke up from her nap at 2:30. She didn’t go back to sleep until 10. She was screaming at me for most of the evening. Turns out she started teething big time then.
Sunday morning we met up with Dan and Trish for brunch. Larua stayed home and slept while we were out. It was really good to catch up with them again. They seem to be doing well. I’m sure they are still healing and grieving, but appeared to be doing well. We stopped back home to finish packing and get the little girl.
This week has been ok. I stayed home on Monday with Laura. She needed a day home with me to readjust. Tuesday I worked at SCC Elementary. Overall, Tuesday was a horrible day. I don’t want to go into many details. I’m trying to just move forward and not think about it too much. Yesterday was a good day. I took Laura into UWRF to visit. Joe and Melissa brought in Johanna and Dan and Aleisha brought in Samantha. So we have some really cute pictures of all three ITS baby girls.
Today is off to a rough start. She didn’t sleep well last night. She is couging and congested. On top of that, she is tetthing. I took her temp at 8:50. She had a temp of 101. So I gave her a dose of Tylenol. It seems her temp is going down. I’ll take it again when she wakes up to check.
This weekend is going to be full. Saturday Robert and I have a wedding to go to. Laura is going to stay with Barb, one of Robert’s co-workers. I’m excited to have a night out, especially if Laura is going to be cranky. I love her so much, but it will be nice to get away for a little bit. Sunday I am Sunday School Hall Supervisor, then a Board of Ed. meeting at 11:30. I would like to try and get a tree this weekend, but I don’t know how well that will work if Laura is still sick. :/
Not much else on the agenda for this week. I would like to get some Christmas shopping done soon. We also need to make a Target run. We are running out of some basics. I enjoy the cuddles that Laura wants right now, but I just want her to feel better. I wish there was something I could do to take away her pain. If this bothers me this much now, I don’t want to imagine when she actually is hurt or severely sick. TIme to run.
