Staying Afloat

I have finally hit the point that I don’t know what I want to do with my life. I have always thought that I would be a teacher. However, with no job possibilities for awhile, I am starting to reconsider. I don’t know if I can financially handle a job that depends on other people being sick (subbing). I have decided that I enjoy working 8-4, or 4:30, not bringing work home with me, and having weekends off. Office work doesn’t seem too bad to me. I think that I could really enjoy it. However, I don’t know if I would be qualified. I have no business background at all. I looked at what it would take to go back and get a business degree, and I don’t know if I could do it. Is it bad that I have decided I would be happy (for now) working as a secretary/administrative assistant? Who ever said that I absolutely must use my major? Being a teacher isn’t everything to me, is it? So many questions with so few answers. I hate feeling like this. Why did I have to start questioning so much after I graduated? I just received my diploma in the mail last week. Now I am questioning why I did it all. I know that I would be a good teacher, but is it what I want to do for the rest of my life? For as long as I can remember, being a teacher is the only thing I saw myself doing. Now I don’t know. Maybe I’ll look through the classifieds and see what is listed.

   There are many things that you could do with a teaching degree (hence why I’m still persuing it, even though I don’t know if it’s really what I want to do). One thing is to be a trainer (i.e. a corporate trainer). In this case you learn whatever task(s) you’ll have to teach the rest of the staff, and teach it. Additionally, if you were take a position such as this, some companies would have you travel, if that interests you. There are other things, but I can’t think of them right now.
