Well, another birthday has come and gone (it was yesterday). I did get a few birthday wishes via email. Of course the standard cards from grandparents and parents came in the mail. I didn’t get to open any gifts since I got them at Christmas. My parents gave me the gift of paying for my cell phone through July. I greatly apprecitate that! Robert gave me a very nice digital camera, so I told him he didn’t have to give me anything.
I started my student teaching on Monday. I love my class and teacher. The kids are just a great bunch and a lot of fun. My teacher isn’t one to sugar coat things. She tells it as it really is, but without scaring you. I did the read aloud today in class, and tomorrow I get to do the Morning Meeting in addition to that. I start teaching spelling next week. It is really hard to come up with a hook for spelling. I am sure I will figure something out. I will end up writing those lesson plans tomorrow and this weekend. I am just too exhausted tonight. I’ll probably end up going to bed at 9:30 tonight like I did last night. I would like to try and learn last names a little better.
For anyone who cares, my grandpa is still hanging on. They have brought a hospital bed into the house. There are days that he can’t even get out of bed. I am gussing it won’t be too much longer, but we were also saying that around Thanksgiving. I just hate the waiting. I am so glad that I was able to make it to the Neppl Christmas since that is the last time I will see him alive, at least that I know of.
Note to self, work on resumé this weekend! I need to have that done for the Student Teacher Professional Day on Feb. 11.
Time to go switch laundry and be productive. Write more later.

so when are we going to see you kids next?

Well, as I recall Saturdays are bad for you and Rich. Sundays are generally not bad for us (with the exception of the morning, when we’re in church). During the week of course there’s work during the day. What sort of get-together were you thinking of?

Give him a call now and then (if you aren’t already and if you can), he will most definitely appreciate it. Even my own grandpa did at that sort of time, and he was most definitely not a phone person (or even much of a talker at all).

I would call him, but he would have no idea who I am. He didn’t even know me when I was there in person. BTW, he has alzheimer’s.

I’m sorry! I forgot it was your birthday! Happy Birthday!!! Is there anything you want that you haven’t gotten, that I could give you? And if the answer’s Duct Tape, I’m there! lol

Re: :-O
Acutally, it was the 26th. Don’t worry about giving me anything. And don’t feel too bad. Now that I am 22, birthdays aren’t a big deal until I hit 26 (golden) and 30.
