October

The cleaning bug has struck! Part of it is prompted by parents/friends visiting next weekend. The other part is needing the place clean so windows can be installed. The other part is it has been bugging me since the wedding. I had the house spotless. Then the wedding happened and the house got really cluttered. I just haven’t had the ambition to do anything about it until now. Today we cleaned the bedroom. Things were completely picked up. Closets were sorted. Things were tossed, clothes were donated to Goodwill, etc. It looks so nice. Tomorrow I will work on the porch (assuming it is a somewhat reasonable day) and the livingroom. Robert has been working on cleaning upstairs. Progess has been made, but there remains a lot to do. Room by room.

It sounds like we are definitely putting the house on the market in the spring. So that means getting the house REALLY clean and keeping it that way. I’ll have to wash the windows. I don’t know when they were washed last. Probably the last time the house was sold. (Sorry Robert, not a dig on your cleaning.) Lots of little things to do before we put it on the market. One thing is the kitchen floor. I’ll probably just look for cheap peel and stick tiles to put down. I really don’t care what they look like too much. I just want them a neutral color. Most likely, who ever moves in next will do what they want. If they like them, good. If not, they change it. This winter I am going to paint the livingroom. Friday the bedroom is getting painted.

Monday Robert and I get a day together. It is officially my anniversary. This year I am considered cured from cancer. I am holding a part next Saturday afternoon to celebrate. If you are able and would like to come, comment, and I’ll give more info. The more the merrier!
