I think God is punishing me for not picking enough rock growing up. He seems to have placed an extraordinary number of them in our yard for me to get rid of. I just spent about 75 minutes picking rocks. The sad thing is, I’ve covered maybe 15% of the yard so far. I have two blisters and a pile of about 8 gallons worth of rocks (not counting the rocks I tossed into the neighboring unoccupied lot. Oh yeah … and I also took care of about a dozen large thistles that thought our yard was a nice place to grow.

Got back at 7 o’clock tonight from Iowa. More on that later after I’ve fully recovered. In the meantime… I haven’t mowed my lawn in about 2-1/2 weeks. Amusingly enough, there are two comics in the Pioneer Press Sunday paper that reference not mowing the lawn … Pluggers and Adam @ Home. It was a good laugh before bed. Sleep time for this bunny.

So we’re sitting here watching “The Fabulous Life of…” on VH1. They just had a Wal-mart commercial. The guy from “The Fabulous Life of…” was *promoting* Wal-mart. Talk about W….T….F!

Seen on Hwy 55 on the way home from beldurnik’s birthday party …

motorcycle with metal boxes on each side instead of saddle bags and a back rest made out of lumber. Oh yeah … and the tailpipe looked like stove pipe or other small metal ductwork.

How long does my setup at work take to crunch 356,771,740 lines of samba logs and create a database of login/logouts? Hopefully I’ll know tomorrow.

Found a story about this on CNN. Wow … the memories. Not that i generally dance though. I think that guy is *very* comfortable with himself (of course you probably have to be to be a comedian).
Life has been pretty busy lately. I’ve had a few housecalls to do recently. Work has been going pretty well, though I was kinda stuck doing paperwork-type stuff earlier this week. I finally got enough done to dig back into script coding late this afternoon. Yay. :) Got to meet with my new boss on Tuesday and that was pretty good. It’s nice to see an administrative type who’s as enthusiastic about our work as we are (or at least some of us are).
Just a reminder to those in LJ land … we’re having a housewarming party this weekend and are interested in having attendees. :)

Today was fun. I woke up and did dishes. By hand since I get frustrated with pretty much any mechanical dishwasher’s ability (or lack thereof) to get dishes clean. After eating breakfast, I went out and dug up some rocks in the yard and watered our trees. Are we having fun yet? This afternoon Liz and I went to New Richmond to get wood and hardware for a workbench. Then we decided to be really ambitious and went to Hudson for a storm door. Not ambitious enough for you? We installed it ourselves this evening! Finally got that done and all the tools cleaned up around 9 o’clock. Oh .. that reminds me. I got a cordless tool set today too. It’s an 18v 4-piece by Rigid … includes circular saw, reciprocating saw, hammer-drill and flashlight. I even ended up using the reciprocating saw already to trim the trim for the door.

Anyway, bedtime for this bunny. I think tomorrow is going to be fairly quiet … mostly just trying to stay cool. Though I will hopefully get some work done on the workbench.

Well, I found out tonight how long it takes me currently to mow my entire lawn … about 3 hours. Ouch. At least I’m not doing it with a push mower. Right now there are a *lot* of dandelions … almost seems like more dandelions than grass. Anyway, the dandelions don’t bother me so much as the fact that the ground is as smooth to drive over as a hay field (which makes sense since it was a hay field before they put the house here) … meaning not very.

Work was interesting today. We have a new CIO now. This is the first of many changes that are going to come about in the next year. While I don’t mind change, hopefully it’s not an overwhelming amount of work. I just need to keep in mind that in the end this should all be worthwhile. Hopefully it will result in a more positive spirit in our department.

I went for a run this morning … didn’t go particularly far… just up to the county road north of here … so I think maybe 3/4 mile each way. It made it very clear that I’m not in the shape I’d like to be, but I think it could have been worse. My goal is to start doing it 2-3 times per week. Maybe if I’m lucky I’ll get some company (even if she just rides bike).

Well, time for food.
