A Good Day (so far)

As I start to write this, it is 10 to 11 in the morning.  Warren decided to have an early start to his day.  Robert was up with him for an hour, then I sat up with him for a bit.  He fell back asleep shortly after 5.  I went back to bed and the next thing I knew it was 7:15 and Robert was kissing me goodbye.  I woke up and got up with Laura.  She’s been in a great mood this morning.  She had a good breakfast (a whole waffle).  I held her down to give her the meds.  She still fights them, but I’m learning how to do it alone.  Warren woke up shortly after meds were given (hmm, wonder if there might be a reason for that  ).  I let Laura watch Dora and Diego this morning.  She isn’t totally glued to the tv.  She was playing with her farm and other toys at the same time.  I feel a little better about that.  Warren was happy playing and sitting with me.  At 10 he was starting to get tired.  I put him in his crib and let him cry himself to sleep.  I think he is getting old enough that he can do that.  It really didn’t take very long.  During nap, Laura and I got creative.  I pulled out a piece of construction paper, a glue stick, cotton balls, and some stickers.  I drew a snowman on the paper.  Then Laura used the glue stick to glue the cotton balls down.  I had her embellish with snowman stickers.  It turned out really cute.  I should take a picture with the old camera (easier to upload those picture).  We then put together the alphabet puzzle that Tamara gave Laura.  We worked on some letter sounds like doing it.  I had Laura find each letter, so I know that she knows them.  After the puzzle was put together, I let her have a little bit of caramel corn that I made.  Of course she’s been loving the one on one with me.

My goal is to get Warren into a little bit more of a schedule (just in time to mess it up with Dance Theatre) so that Laura and I can do the fun activities and learning time.  I asked Laura what day it was.  “Monday.”  I know it was most likely a fluke, but it was still cool she got it right away.  She then said 10 days to Grandma.   Fortunately I have a trip down scheduled, so we made another calendar to count down the days.

Yesterday I ran away for the entire day again.  I had a big scrapbooking day with Mandy.  I didn’t get as much done as I would have liked.  I have entered “futsidom” as Mandy and I have termed it.  I am putting more and more into the pages so they take me longer.  I finished Christmas 2008 and a page of Laura playing with Peaches.  I have the “title” page of Warren’s book done, the ultrasound done, and the hospital signs/bracelets in.  We did take a chunk of time to go shopping for more stickers.  I need to find a few more stickers for certain events (I have hardly any for Warren’s baptism).  I was really disappointed that they were so hard to find.  If I had my way, I would be down there right now working on more pages, but it would be just too difficult with Laura.

I need to get groceries for the week yet.  I was going to take the kids this morning, but Robert suggested I go when he gets off work.  I can handle that.  So now my afternoon will be just playing and keeping the kids happy.  Hopefully Laura will get in a good nap.  She’s still fighting the ear infection so she needs extra sleep.  She is also so much more pleasant after a good long nap.

Time to play with the little girl and then get her some lunch.
