Christmas really snuck up on me this year. It is December 22 today, and I still haven’t wrapped the kids’ presents. I finished shopping Sunday night. The Christmas cards just made it into the mail today.
I spent most of last week down in DeForest at Mom and Dad’s. I left home on Tuesday and returned on Saturday. Tuesday night wasn’t too bad, but the other nights were awful. Of the three nights, the longest stretch of sleep I had was 2 hours. If it wasn’t one kid it was the other. Warren managed to catch a cold. I don’t know what was up with Laura’s sleep. Thankfully Mom took both kids for a while Saturday morning so I could get some sleep. I have the best husband in the world. He met us in Osseo on the drive home. He drove the car with both kids, and I got to drive in peace the rest of the way home.
I have now caught Warren’s cold. While Laura watched Dora and Warren was napping, I dozed on the couch. I got about 20 minutes or so, but it felt so good. I took some Sudafed, so hopefully I’ll start to feel better soon. I have a lot I would like to get done today. I need to do the dishes. The kitchen is bad. I need to get the kids’ presents wrapped during nap time.
Next week I am going out with Mandy and Jess. We haven’t gone out for quite a while. The Neppl/Jensen Christmases are the following weekend as well (New Year’s weekend). With how the kids slept at Mom’s, I am really not looking forward to trying to do the big loop. Not only that, but Warren doesn’t ride in the car real well. I would worry about the drive home from Irwin. I’m not making any final decisions yet. I’ll see how we are all feeling next week.
I suppose I should get started on some things. I just wanted to get an update done since it’s been so long.
