Weekend Update

So as many of you know, it was my birthday on Friday. I made two pans of brownies to take into work (one chocolate, one blonde brownies). I was wished a happy birthday by all my co-workers. It was a crazy, somewhat stressful day at work. In the evening, we came home and crashed. I didn’t feel like cooking anything, so we just ate leftovers. I was pretty disappointed in the day overall.

Saturday morning, Robert and I decided to do a re-do of my birthday (it’s my day, I can do that if I want to). He cooked breakfast while I talked to Mom on the phone. Then we took a much needed nap. He had to run out to get my present (we had been too busy during the week for that to happen). While he was gone, I got caught up on some of my recorded TV shows. He came home with 4 roses (two for when we were dating, two for when we’ve been married) and a gold cross necklace with a silver dove in the middle of it. I loved it. It was exactly what I wanted. I told him I didn’t really care what it was that I got, but I wanted it to be for me and something he put thought into. We then got ready for dinner. He took me out to Mama Maria’s in North Hudson. The food there was really good, but the service wasn’t. I’ll be writing them a letter tomorrow, or possibly tonight yet. Our server did the absolute minimum and didn’t ever recognize it was my birthday, even though it was written on the table right in front of me in bright red/pink. That wasn’t all, but that was a big part of it. We rented a movie, which we will probably watch either tomorrow or Tuesday. Then we both crashed hard.

Today we went to the 8:00 service, came home for 2 hours, then went back for the Annual Meeting. It was really nice this time since there wasn’t any arguing over the budget. That happened when it was written back in November. :) We were done around 1:15 (meeting was called to order about 11:45ish). When we got home, I had to call Mom to brag about the “cute pregnancy” comment I had received. We chatted for an hour while Robert putzed on the computer next to me. Then we chilled for a while, made a grocery run, ate at Culver’s (not the healthiest, but sure was tasty!), and are now back at home on the computers. I am just playing while he is doing work related stuff. I’ll be glad when his email project is over.

This week I am still working 40 hours at Textbook Services. Tomorrow I have a friend coming to work to visit. She used to work there with me when we were students. I can’t wait to catch up with her. Wednesday night I am doing a cooking class with a friend in Stillwater. Thursday I have my tutoring again. I am so excited that I can see progress with him. It is a little slow, but considering we meet only 1 hour every week, and we have missed a few weeks with the holidays and whatnot, I think it’s good.

That is my last few days in a nutshell. Time to find a game to kill brain cells. :)
