First day of classes

Well, second semester is under way here at River Falls. My day started at 6 when Liz and I got up to walk. It was -1 degrees with a windchill of -12 or -13 degrees. We almost got in our usual 15 laps. We were only one short, but we had to get back for breakfast so Liz could be at work at 8. I went and talked to Robert to see how his morning was going. I came back to the room for about an hour and then headed off to my first class at 9:35, which is TED 255 (Reading Guide for Children). The classroom portion is going to be boring, but I do have a good reason to read children’s books now. I have to have 50 read before May. That class was finished 20 minutes early so I had 2 hours to burn before my second class. I tried to visit Robert again, but he was not in his office so I spent some time in the Student Center. Around 11 I went to see him again and he was there this time. :) I asked him if he would mind if I joined him for lunch today since Liz had made plans with Sara. I went upstairs in the library to see what children’s books they had to see which ones I might want to read. At 11:30ish I went back to the the Student Center to meet Robert for lunch. We had a nice lunch and then it was time for me to walk across campus for my class in CSH. The Exceptional Child is going to be a fun class. It will be work, but the professor seems like the kind that will make it fun. She mentioned bringing in guest speakers so we can see a person who is dealing with the disability we are currently talking about. I am somehow going to have to get a minimum of 6 hours in a special education classroom.

All day I have been exhausted. I don’t know why I am so tired. I think part of it is just being back at school, in a different bed, and now that I’m with Liz, I do think about my situation with her and Robert more. Liz has to work and then has Dance Theatre tonight until 9. I have a feeling her and I won’t be up real late tonight. I’ve already taken down the garbage and vacuumed so the room is somewhat clean. I need to talk to Amanda tomorrow night to see if I can get Friday nights off. This semester I have so many things planned for the weekends that it would be easier to switch my schedule totally if possible. I’m not sure what other people’s schedules look like though. I’ll have to wait and see.

I remember now why I liked working on Tuesday nights last semster. There is absolutely nothing on tv on Tuesday nights. I am half way tempted to turn on American Idol just for other noise. I could also start some homework. Either way, I’m going to wrap this up. Write more later.
