We didn’t walk that much, but by the time this weekend is over we will have driven more than 1,000 miles.  We had friends get married in Green Bay and Appleton this weekend.  One was Friday and the other was Saturday (thank goodness they were on different days!).  To make things a little simpler (and to have time as just a couple), we stayed in DeForest and Mom and Dad’s the drove to each wedding.  We also left the kids with them.  :D Each wedding was fun.  I do wish that we could have stayed longer, but with a 2 hour drive back from each, we weren’t able to party and celebrate as much as we would have liked.  We do have pictures up from each wedding (links will open in a new window).

Robert and I learned a valuable lesson this weekend.  Night driving does NOT work for Laura.  She stayed awake until 9:40pm in the car while driving.  Once we got to Mom and Dad’s, she got a second wind around 11:30.  :p We finally convinced her it was time to go to bed at midnight.  She was up and at ’em at 6:1oam the next morning.    She also didn’t nap much that day (as in only 30 minutes).  I was so thankful that I was at the wedding!

On a positive note, Warren is doing awesome with his sleep!  He has started waking up around 9 for a feeding then going to bed right after.  He will then go until at least 4:30 or 5.  This morning he started fussing at 4:30, I gave him his Nuk, and he slept again until 5:30, repeat.  He finally got  up at 6:30am!   :woot: :woot:  With the help of Mom, we have figured that if he doesn’t get to sleep in his bed after 3pm, then he will sleep really well at night.  We’ll try it again tonight.  *fingers crossed*  If he wants to keep up this routine I certainly wouldn’t mind!

I’m hoping that this week will go better.  I’ve really been struggling with a few areas in my life.  One being discipline with Laura.  I have a post started about that.  Hopefully I get can it finished up soon.  We are going to discuss discipline at play group this week, so hopefully I can some ideas to add to what I’m thinking already.  I’ve also considered starting counseling again, but the hard part with that is I’d have to pay daycare while I’m there.  I don’t know if we could afford that much daycare without me making money.  ;-( I think if I get out with my friends soon that will help too.  Part of my problem is that I am home so much.  I rarely get totally away.

Speaking of that, it’s funny how much things can change or suddenly make so much more sense once you are in a similar situation.  My friend Abbie (hi!) gets out Saturday mornings without kids to get groceries.  When I first heard this, I thought to myself, “That doesn’t sound like much fun, but whatever works for you.”  Now that I have 2 young kids, I can totally see the point there!  It really doesn’t matter what you do.  What matters is that you get a chance to leave the house and have some time alone.

This weekend has been so nice to have time alone with Robert and not have to worry about the kids at all.  We really need to work on doing a date night once in a while.  We were pretty good about doing something together when we only had Laura, but now that Warren is here, we haven’t been as good.  It’s been survival mode.  Now that we’re mostly out of that stage, hopefully we can get a baby-sitter and have date.

Not much else to post about right now.  Last week wasn’t a real good one for me.  Here’s hoping for a better week this week.  :)

Pretty new header! Sounds like it was a fun weekend even though it was a lot of driving. Glad you got some time to yourself. Yes its its probably sad I enjoy going shopping every two weeks by myself but it can be fun to “get lost” in just looking at stuff as I am shopping. I also enjoy eating breakfast at McDonalds. Its a sad life but someone had to live it..

Oh, I can totally understand getting lost in just looking. I actually enjoy walking the aisles of the grocery store and just looking at the different products available! Same goes for Wal-Mart or Target. I am the same that I enjoy a McD’s breakfast every once in a while. It really is too bad there are so many miles between us.
