September

So long, farewell…

I am sad that the weekend is over.  They never seem to last long enough.  Yesterday I went to Meghan’s baby shower.  I took Warren with so I wouldn’t have to worry about pumping.  It’s just easier to take him with at this point.  It was a good time.  I enjoyed being around other young moms as well.  I wish that I would live a little closer so maybe some friendships could be formed.  Oh well, such is life.  After the baby shower, Warren and I shopping for some new jeans for me.

Today we had church in the morning.  I had contemplated staying home with the kids since Robert had communion duties and there was a baptism.  Services typically go long with baptisms, plus the clean up afterwards makes for getting home late.  I had a great idea this time though.  We packed a sandwich for Laura to eat after communion and while Robert was cleaning up.  This worked really well.  She just had a diaper change when we got home and went down for nap.  After she was napping, we turned on the Packer game and ate lunch.  Being the young, spry people we are, we ended up taking a nap at half-time.  We all slept until 3:40ish.  After naps, I made our menu and grocery list.  I had some things I wanted to pick up from Target as well.  Warren is in desperate need of pants.  We have tons of onsies and shirts, and not much for pants.  Robert stayed home with the kids while I ran away.  :)  Unfortunately, Target has no selection for the sizes I need.  I found one shelving unit with pants on 2 shelves.  Only 2 colors for the size I need.  In the end, I picked up slippers (because Warren likes to be cozy warm like his daddy), socks, shoes (the little Robeez knock-offs), and 2 pairs of pants (gray and brown).  I’ll have to hit some second hand stores to find him more pants soon.  After Target I got some groceries.  Amazingly, we didn’t need a ton of them this week.  We had most o the neccessary ingredients for the menu we have planned.  It was nice to not drop a ton of money at the store.

Tonight’s dinner was Made Over Chicken Tetrazzini.  I have decided that I’m not cooking tomorrow night.  The fridge is full of leftovers, so that’s what we get.  I’ll think about cooking again Tuesday.

This week is going to be pretty quiet.  The only things planned are play group on Wednesday morning and coffee Friday morning.  I don’t even have any appointments for anyone.  Amazing!  I need to write a couple of thank you cards and get them in the mail.  The weather is getting cooler, so I don’t know how much we’ll get outside.  Laura would live outside if I let her, but Warren gets cold so easily that it’s hard to have him out there.  If he gets cold, he gets fussy, which leads to stress and unhappiness all around.

Well, both kids are in bed and sleeping.  I should head that direction and take advantage.  Last night wasn’t so great sleep-wise for me.  I’m hoping tonight will go better.
