October

Today has been a good day. Laura slept through the night last night! She went down around 7 and go up at 6. It felt soooooooo good. :D So after getting the little girl fed, I made us pancakes for breakfast. Robert made scrambled eggs to go with. She was ready for a nap around 7:15, so we all went back to bed for an hour or so. She seems to be on a routine of being up for an hour and 15 minutes or so now. She has been happy all day, which is very nice.

I now have all the photos that we printed of Laura in her scrapbook. I am so proud of how it is coming along. I wish there was a way for me to get nice pictures of it to post. But that would seem to defeat the purpose of a paperscrap book. We ordered another 24 pictures this afternoon, so once those get here I can get them done. I have an area in the basement where I can just leave my stuff out and not be in the way. I have Laura’s swing and chair down there so she can hang out with us. I even poked at Robert enough to work on the old Dance Theatre DVDs so we can get some cash. :)

Laura’s sleeping seems to be getting better. On a whim in the middle of the night Thursday, I tried out something different. Anytime she fussed, I offered the pacifier first and settled her back down. Each time she would go back to sleep for a relatively long stretch. She never truly woke up wanting to eat. So I tried this again last night. She went even longer before starting to fuss. I am hoping that this is the beginning of a very good thing. I was reading a board I frequent online. Some of the women were saying that their pediatrician wants them to cut out the midnight feeding. It is more habit than need. This made me wonder if Laura’s midnight feeding was habit or need. It appears it is habit and we are breaking it. *knocks on wood* *crosses fingers*

In other news, I am a new aunt. Robert’s sister had her baby at 1:11am today. A little boy. The first name is going to be Owen, but not sure on the middle name yet. So congrats to them.

Time to check on the progress of supper. TTFN!

Glad things are going better in the sleep department! Awesome about sleeping through the night as well. I always wanted to get into scrap booking but I don’t think I would be very good at it. I have a digital program I could use though so maybe someday. Congrats for becoming a aunt!
