Pregnant Ramblings…

Someone recently asked me how it was being pregnant. I couldn’t give just a short answer… I rambled. The following is the response I gave. To the person who asked, sorry that you are seeing this twice. :)

I am actually enjoying being pregnant. I have gotten off pretty easy with no morning sickness, no nausea, no food aversions, cravings have been minimal, and over all I just feel great. My latest thing is lemon water. I drink it like there is no tomorrow, which isn’t all bad. I am thrilled that I haven’t gained yet, and I’m definitely looking pregnant (not sure if you look at our baby page and tummy pics). I am hitting the point where I can’t do a lot of heavy lifting like I used to. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem, but working at Textbook Services for 3 weeks makes it a little bit of a challenge. Instead, I have to have other people tote around the books for me. I did try it a few days, and I was tender afterwards. Our next ultrasound will be Feb. 5, which seems like it is a ways away, but it is the Monday after I finish working at Textbook, so really it is pretty close. It is amazing how fast time seems to go. When I first found out I was pregnant, I thought 40 weeks was way too long, but now that I am almost half way through (18 weeks), I can’t believe how fast it has gone. I am sure the last 4-6 weeks will drag on, but that is to be expected. I am thrilled to be able to feel movements now. I am now looking forward to being able to feel thumps instead of flutters and for Robert to be able to feel it as well. I know that he is wishing he could feel movement. So that is my long winded answer to, “how’s being pregnant?”. Probably more than you wanted to know, but there is so much happening and so many feelings that it is hard to sum up in just a few words.

Nah… this isn’t more than we wanted to know (okay, I may be a little biased). Now if you had started talking about how pregnancy is affecting some bodily functions, then it could get into TMI area for some people.

I don’t know if I am comfortable talking about my bodily funcitons online. That would just be a little weird. You’ll just have to listen to me talk about them in the privacy of our home. :)
