February

So it has been a while since I have updated. Here is a quick run down.

Friday: Parents came up to help with home improvements. We (rjrbytes and I) had made an appointment to look at some houses (we are selling ours in case anyone is out of the loop). So my parents, Robert, and I went looking at houses. We really looked at two in Baldwin. The first one is a new construction house. The upstairs is completely finished, but we would finish the basement. The second one is about 2 or 3 years old, and the basement is unfinished. We really liked the first house we saw so we put in an offer (more about that later). While we are out looking, our realtor asks if we heard from the office about a showing this weekend. We all look at her and go “Showing? THIS weekend???” Now mind you we had planned on not cleaning the house at all until about Sunday. We were going to put down a new kitchen floor, new tile on the porch, carpet upstairs, and put together 2 wardrobes. We didn’t have time for a showing, but we didn’t want to mess up a possible offer. So once we get home, we start working like mad. We got the carpet down upstairs, the wardrobes put together, and got the porch prepped for tile.

Saturday: Our showing was set up for 10-12. We knew the showing wouldn’t take the entire time, but we couldn’t really start a project until the showing was over. The morning was spent putting down tile on the porch, stashing things, decluttering, and cleaning. We were finishing things up right as the buyers showed up. Later that afternoon, we started on the kitchen floor. Once I get the pictures off the camera, I’ll post them. We got about half of the kitchen floor done on Saturday. That night our realtor called us and told us there were two other offers on the house we wanted. So we adjusted our offer a little in hopes of being chosen.

Sunday: We skipped church in order to get the kitchen floor done. It took a lot longer than Robert and I had thought it would. I woke up that morning with a slightly sore throat. I just sucked on cough drops and drank lots of fluids. Mom and Dad left around 4:00 and Robert and I crashed. Unfortunately, my throat was super sore and I couldn’t sleep even though I was exhausted. By 8:00, I was in tears over how much my throat hurt. Robert called the nurse line that was on the back of our insurance card. The nurse said I didn’t have to get to an ER, but I did need to see a doctor within 24 hours. I knew by this point I had strep. I remember how my body reacts when I have it.

Monday: Robert stayed home in the morning to take me to the doctor (car was having issues). As soon as the clinic opened, I called to get an appointment. Fortunately, they had an opening at 9 that I took. Sure enough, my tests came back positive for strep (I told you I knew my body). I layed low all day and Robert worked in the afternoon.

Tuesday: I was feeling a little bit better. I knew that we had another showing on Wednesday, so I called a friend over to help me clean the house and get it ready. So I spent the afternoon with Jess cleaning the house.

Wednesday: Today! I drove into River Falls to get new tires on the car (plus I had to be out of the house for the showing). I returned home around 4. So far I’ve just sat in front of the tv taking life easy. I’m still not feeling 100%. Tomorrow I am teaching from 11:30-3 and then all day Friday. But it is time to start cooking dinner and talk to the hubby.

My goal is to update a little more often. Even if my life isn’t exciting, I know that this is the only way some people know what is going on with me. Ta Ta For Now!
